December 2022— February 2023
This animation is part of my Twilight Zone Arcade project. I created it represent gameplay for the arcade cabinet. I didn't know how to create a game at the time of making this, so I thought why not make an animation since it's something I want to continue working with in future projects. I do NOT own any of the music in this animation, it's purely for educational purposes.
The goal for this project was to combine the majority of my favorite art mediums. I wanted to create an arcade cabinet the displayed "gameplay" and audio. The cabinet itself was laser cut and hand painted while the "gameplay" is an animation I created. I used an old Bluetooth speaker to play the animation's audio which sits on a shelf in the cabinet interior. An old phone my mother gave me acts as the cabinet's screen, which also sits on a support further in the cabinet interior. Even though the gameplay is animation, I wanted the cabinet to authentic and made the joystick mobile. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the buttons as I wanted, but they're in the works now and hopefully will be changed out soon!
I want the display of this piece to feel similar to that of a Pax event and decided to design some posters
